Ukraine, Zaporizhia: Ukrenergo has been forced to suspend the reconstruction of the 330 kV Kakhovska-Khersonska power grid, funded by the European Bank for the Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB), and put it into operation, the press service of the company has said.

Ukraine, Zaporizhia: Ukrenergo has been forced to suspend the reconstruction of the 330 kV Kakhovska-Khersonska power grid, funded by the European Bank for the Reconstruction and Development  (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB), and put it into operation.

The decision was made due to the difficult situation in energy supply to the southern regions of the country after an autotransformer with a capacity of 1,000 MVA at Zaporizhia nuclear power plant switched off because of damage to a 330 kV remote current transformer.

“As a result, this may affect the volume of reconstruction work and reduce the use of investment funds from European financial institutions and jeopardize the completion of work at the Kakhovska-Khersonska line this year,” Ukrenergo report said, according to Interfax.
