India, Tamil Nadu: The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) has put forward an elaborate infrastructure proposal to improve the distribution network in Chennai.

As power transformers in the R.A. Puram 110 kV substation are reaching their full capacity in the event of any unexpected difficulties in power supply, the improvement proposal includes installation and commissioning of new 230 kV substations and auto transformers, with additional or alternate feeder lines to various substations in the city, reports The Hindu.

The proposal has been sent to The Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation and it gives top priority to distribution network improvements which would make the city ready to face the summer of 2016.
