Danes to fund transmission network extension in Mozambique

Mozambique: The proposed reinforcement and extension of the electricity transmission network in Inhambane Province in Mozambique will be funded by the Danish International Development Agency (Danida) and Nordea Bank AB, as well as the central government of Mozambique.

 


Mozambique: The proposed reinforcement and extension of the electricity transmission network in Inhambane Province in Mozambique will be funded by the Danish International Development Agency (Danida) and Nordea Bank AB, as well as the central government of Mozambique.

The project worth €115 million includes construction of a new 30 MVA, 110/33 kV substation in the town of Massinga with power transformers and associated electrical equipment, reports Macauhub.

The project also includes extension of the Lindela/Maxixe substation, construction of 110 kV line in Lindela/Massinga, construction of a new 33 kV line in Massinga to provide an alternative power source and construction of a new 33 kV line in Maxixe/Homoíne to replace the existing one which is in a poor state of repair.

The project is scheduled for completion by December 2017.
