Ukraine, Kiev: The Ukrainian National Energy Company Ukrenergo has signed a contract to expand and modernize the 750 kV Kiev substation (Kyivska) with Dalekovod, a Croatian company engaged in electrical engineering.

Under the contract, Dalekovod will design, supply, assemble and commission all the required equipment, including a 1,000 MVA power transformer, main high voltage equipment, communications systems, relay protection and automated equipment, Ukrenergo states in the press release.

The second 750/330 kV autotransformer will be installed at the substation during the construction of the 330 kV Chornobyl NPP-Pivnichna power line to the Kiev substation.

According to Ukrenergo, the realization of the contracts will ensure a sufficient transformer capacity at the Kiev substation to obtain electricity from Rivne and Khmelnytsky NPPs, improving the connection of the substation with the central power grid 330 kV lines.
