NLMK steel company invests over $10M in its main substation revamp

Russia, Voronezh: Novolipetsk Steel Company (NLMK) started the reconstruction of its main step-down substation, which supplies electricity to the plant’s converter, refractory, metallurgical slag processing plant and water plant.

 


Russia, Voronezh: Novolipetsk Steel Company (NLMK) started the reconstruction of its main step-down substation, which supplies electricity to the plant’s converter, refractory, metallurgical slag processing plant and water plant.

As part of the modernization project, the company will add another power transformer of 63 MVA to the two existing transformers, increasing the capacity of the substation by 30% to 189 MVA, reports Abireg.

The investment in the project is estimated to exceed $10 million. The project is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2016.
