Russia, Moscow: Moscow United Electric Grid Company (MOESK) is performing a large-scale reconstruction of the 220 kV Sviblovo substation in the north-eastern part of Moscow, with the introduction of new transformers and 220 kV gas-insulated switchgear.

The scope of the project includes installation of two autotransformers of the capacity of 250 MVA each, and four regulating transformers with the capacity of 63 MVA each, reports RusCable.

The replacement of the aged equipment at the substation will increase the capacity of the feeding centre and improve the operational safety of the electrical equipment.

The substation supplies power to many vital facilities in the city, including a couple of metro stations.
