USA, Maryland: Last week three transformers caught fire in downtown Hagerstown, Maryland, causing widespread power outages in the city.

Firefighters were initially dispatched to the 500 block of Northern Avenue for a transformer fire, but arriving at the scene, they found three transformers on fire, Hagerstown Fire Department Captain Trayer Stoops said, reports Herald Mail Media.

A spokesman for Potomac Edison said that crews had to work to de-energise the utility pole after the fire, the cause of which has not been revealed.
