Polish largest PP goes green with 13 new low-loss transformers

Poland, Opole: Poland’s largest power plant, situated in Opole in the southwest of the country, will be modernized with new energy efficient power transformers.

 


Poland, Opole: Poland’s largest power plant, situated in Opole in the southwest of the country, will be modernized with new energy efficient power transformers.

The new transformers, which will be manufactured and installed by ABB, include seven 375 MVA/400 kV transformers, four three-phase transformers and two back-up power transformers, reports Advis.

The deliveries are scheduled for 2016 and 2017.

With other upgrades including the installation of new ultra-high power generating units, adding 1,800 MW to the current generating capacity of 1,532 MW, Opole will be the largest coal-fired plant in Poland.
