Iberdrola wins contract to build $400M power plant in Mexico

Spain, Bilbao: Iberdrola has been awarded an energy generation project in Mexico, the Noreste combined cycle power plant planned to be built in the municipality of Escobedo in Nuevo León state, which will have a capacity of 850 MW and require an investment of $400 million.

 


Spain, Bilbao: Iberdrola has been awarded an energy generation project in Mexico, the Noreste combined cycle power plant planned to be built in the municipality of Escobedo in Nuevo León state, which will have a capacity of 850 MW and require an investment of $400 million.

As part of the project, the company will provide an entire plant infrastructure, including a substation with power transformers and power lines, according to the company press release.

Following construction, Iberdrola will own the facility and be responsible for its operation and maintenance.

Once commissioned, the combined-cycle power plant will have the capacity to meet energy demands of two million Mexican consumers.

The project is scheduled for completion in July 2018.
