Indonesia to spend $125B on adding generating capacity

India, Mumbai: From 2013 to 2022, Indonesia’s only government-owned corporation in electricity generation, transmission and distribution PT PLN has a long-term plan for an additional generating capacity of 59.5 GW, with a total estimated expenditure of around $125 billion.

 


India, Mumbai: From 2013 to 2022, Indonesia’s only government-owned corporation in electricity generation, transmission and distribution PT PLN has a long-term plan for an additional generating capacity of 59.5 GW, with a total estimated expenditure of around $125 billion.

As part of this plan, PT PLN is working on enhancing the performance of its transmission grid and has placed a $62 million order with Avantha Group Company CG for manufacture and supply of power transformers.

The scope of work includes design, manufacture, supply, construction and installation of power transformers in the range of 30 MVA to 268 MVA, which will be installed in Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan and Makassar islands of Indonesia.
