Transformer contract signed for world’s largest floating power plant

Alstom has signed a contract with Karadeniz Energy Group, Turkish manufacturer of powerships, to supply power transformers for the Turkish Karadeniz Powership Osman Khan power plant.

 


Alstom has signed a contract with Karadeniz Energy Group, Turkish manufacturer of powerships, to supply power transformers for the Turkish Karadeniz Powership Osman Khan power plant.

Under the scope of the contract, Alstom will design, manufacture and deliver 200 MVA power transformers, inclusive of commissioning, field tests and respective spare parts. The transformers will be produced in Alstom Grid’s manufacturing site in Gebze, Turkey.

At 486 MW, the Karadeniz Powership Osman Khan will be the world’s largest floating power plant, states Alstom in the press release.

The delivery is planned to be completed early 2016.
