Egypt to award Siemens $268M transmission substation contract
Egypt, Cairo: Egyptian Ministry of Electricity has announced it will sign an agreement with Siemens to establish six new electricity transmission stations at a cost of $268 million, according to Ahram Online.
Egypt, Cairo: Egyptian Ministry of Electricity has announced it will sign an agreement with Siemens to establish six new electricity transmission stations at a cost of $268 million, according to Ahram Online.
The transmission stations with power transformers and associated electrical equipment will be established at a capacity of 500/220 kV in the period of 18 months.
The transmission stations will serve the power plants located in Burullus on the north coast, Upper Egypt’s Beni Suef, and the planned administrative capital.
The deal comes as part of the country’s urgent plan to develop transmission stations in a cascading power grid at a total cost of $1.7 billion.
