Siemens to supply 28 autotransformers to India

Siemens has recently received three orders from the Power Grid Corporation of India, for the total of 28 500 MVA/800 kV autotransformers and spare parts, the company announced in the press release.

 

Siemens has recently received three orders from the Power Grid Corporation of India for the total of 28 500 MVA/800 kV autotransformers plus spare parts, the company announced in the press release.

As part of the contract, Siemens will design, manufacture, and supply all 28 transformers in the period from September 2016 to June 2017.

The transformers will contribute to a transmission-system-strengthening scheme in southern India that aims at boosting the power-handling capacity of substations and stabilizing the area’s power transmission infrastructure to help operate the transmission grid in a safe, reliable manner.
