GE invests $1B to add 3GW in Indonesian power capacity

USA, Washington DC: GE has announced the signing of four infrastructure projects valued at over $1 billion in the presence of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, during his state visit to the United States.

 


USA, Washington DC: GE has announced the signing of four infrastructure projects valued at over $1 billion in the presence of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, during his state visit to the United States.

GE’s investment will facilitate achieving Indonesia’s ambitious goal to increase power generation capacity by 35 GW by 2019, bringing its technology and partnering with local companies to expand their manufacturing and assembly capabilities, as well as enhance repair and service capabilities, the company states in the press release.

Three of the projects will be in the power sector and will contribute an estimated 3 GW in capacity towards the country’s plan to provide more than 35 GW of additional power by 2019.
