USA, Oregon: Pacific Power is building a 500 kV Snow Goose substation in Klamath Falls, Oregon, a project estimated to cost more than $60 million.

The project got underway early this spring after the utility purchased the land for the high-voltage bank of transformers, reports Herald and News.

The substation infrastructure will be built next spring and power will be brought to the site in early 2017.

The substation is expected to strengthen power reliability around the Klamath Basin, and bolster the attraction of the area to outside businesses.
