L&T wins $115 million substation orders

India, Mumbai: Power Transmission & Distribution division of Larsen & Toubro Limited has won substation construction orders in the international and domestic markets with a total value of $115 million.

Larsen & Toubro Saudi Arabia LLC, a fully owned subsidiary of L&T, has secured an order for the construction of four 132 kV substations in Riyadh from National Grid, Saudi Arabia, a subsidiary of Saudi Electricity Company, the company states in the press release.

The scope involves detailed design, engineering, construction, testing and commissioning of 132/13.8 kV, 50/67 MVA power transformers, 132/33 kV, 80/100 MVA power transformers, 132 kV gas insulated switchgear, 13.8 kV switchgears, 33 kV switchgear, and other equipment and civil works.

These projects are in the Central Province of Saudi Arabia and will be completed in 22 months.

The second order is from Power Grid Corporation of India for engineering, procurement and construction of a 765 kV GIS substation package at Aligarh under the Interregional System Strengthening Scheme.
