Russia, Zaporozhye: Ukrainian transformer manufacturer Zaporozhtransformator (ZTR) has completed the testing of the first power transformer manufactured for National Grid SA, as part of their first transformer contract awarded by Saudi Arabia.

The tested 132 kV 100 MVA transformer is one of the four transformers ordered by the customer, which will be used as backup transformers for several similar power transformers which were produced by different manufacturers at different times, the manufacturer states in the press release.

The spare transformers will be supplied with two sets of high-voltage bushings of different types in order to provide interchangeability with several types of old transformers.

The testing of the second transformer has been scheduled for the second half of November, while all four transformers are planned to be tested and shipped to the customer by the end of this year.
