Končar ships transformer for the Arctic Circle
Croatia, Zagreb: Končar - Distribution & Special Transformers Inc. (D&ST) has shipped a 25 MVA power transformer to a transformer substation in the far north of Finland, close to the town of Sodankylä in the province of Lapland.
Croatia, Zagreb: Končar – Distribution & Special Transformers Inc. (D&ST) has shipped a 25 MVA power transformer to a transformer substation in the far north of Finland, close to the town of Sodankylä in the province of Lapland.
The transformer will be installed at the transformer substation in Pitkäjängän, in the Arctic Circle, at the latitude of 67.4 degrees.
In order to respond to specific weather conditions, the transformer is designed and constructed to withstand temperatures up to -50°C.
