Canada, Ontario: A major refurbishment has been successfully completed on an old transformer station owned by Niagara-on-the-Lake (NOTL) Hydro.

The project, carried out on the 32-year-old NOTL Station, included a new power transformer, as well as breaker, communications, spill containment and civil upgrades, reports Niagara This Week.

The new 50 MVA transformer replaced one of the two 25 MVA transformers, the one that had reached its end of life, but is being kept as a short-term back up. The new transformer is anticipated to serve the Town for 40 years.
