USA, New York: A small transformer fell off a delivery truck onto the roadway on the south side of Public Square in Watertown, NY, leaking 795 litres of oil.

The leaked mineral oil was not considered hazardous or flammable and was soon cleaned up.

The driver of the delivery truck, which transported more than one transformer, has been reported unaware that the transformer had come loose until police contacted him.

Although Jefferson County Dispatch could not confirm it, it was suspected that another transformer had fallen off the truck in another location outside the city.

The transformers were being delivered to a customer of WESCO International Inc. at 465 Newell St., but WESCO would not disclose the name of the customer or where the transformers were being delivered.
