Dubai’s DEWA approves $6.4B budget for 2016

UAE, Dubai: Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) has approved a $6.4 billion budget for 2016.

 

UAE, Dubai: Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) has approved a $6.4 billion budget for 2016.

The 2016 budget includes a number of key projects, including $928.4 million for power transmission and $326.7 million for power distribution, reports Construction Week Online.

The planned projects include building 9 new 132 kV substations at a cost of $211.1 million, while $408.3m has been allocated to the extension of 256 km of 132kV cables, and other power transmission and distribution projects and smart communication networks.
