$488M investment and thousands of new transformers planned for 2016

Egypt, Cairo: The Egyptian Electricity Holding Company has allocated $488 million for the improvements in Egypt’s electricity distribution networks in 2016, including new distribution lines, transformers, and low and medium voltage cables.

 


Egypt, Cairo: The Egyptian Electricity Holding Company has allocated $488 million for the improvements in Egypt’s electricity distribution networks in 2016, including new distribution lines, transformers, and low and medium voltage cables.

Within this budget, the company will award contracts for 1,036 distribution transformers, 9,120 capacity distribution transformers and 6,347 low voltage transformers, reports Daily News Egypt.

The holding company will also develop and strengthen electricity transmission and distribution grids to reduce loss rates, and plans to implement the smart network system for all grids.
