Sulaimani to receive 120 new transformers

Kurdistan: At least 120 transformers are to arrive in Sulaimani to help improve power supply to the city, which suffers from frequent blackouts.

 

Kurdistan: At least 120 transformers are to arrive in Sulaimani to help improve power supply to the city, which suffers from frequent blackouts.

The local electricity directorate said in a statement that the arrival of new transformers will solve power supply issues in a number of neighbourhoods in the city, reports NRT.

Iraq’s Ministry of Electricity delivered 13 transformers to Sulaimani earlier this month in an effort to ease issues.

Kurdistan residents suffer from inconsistent electricity supply and many rely on generators to make up for regular cuts in power.
