Tangedco building numerous substations in Tamil Nadu
India, Tamil Nadu: The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) is constructing new substations around the city and its suburbs to tackle the power situation during summer.
India, Tamil Nadu: The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) is constructing new substations around the city and its suburbs to tackle the power situation during summer.
New substations with power transformers and associated electrical equipment are being erected at Sithalapakkam Medavakkam, inside multi-storey housing complexes in Siruseri and also at Egattur near Kelambakkam, reports The Hindu.
The Corporation is also establishing a substation dedicated to people living in tenements constructed by Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board at Ezhil Nagar in Okkiyam Thoraipakkam, and a similar facility at Cancer Institute in Adyar.
Similarly, three substations with 33/11 kV power transformers are planned at Chengalpattu and Kancheepuram.
