China’s State Grid to invest $350B into power transmission

State Grid Corporation of China, the world’s biggest utility, plans to invest $350 billion into expansion of its power transmission network by 2020.

 


State Grid Corporation of China, the world’s biggest utility, plans to invest $350 billion into expansion of its power transmission network by 2020.

The planned investment will surpass the investment in the previous five-year period by 28 percent, Chairman Liu Zhenya said at a press conference in Hong Kong Thursday, according to Bloomberg.

Investment in electricity infrastructure is crucial for copper demand in China.
