Nepal-India transmission line project to be completed soon

Nepal, Kathmandu: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), the state-owned power utility, may soon import up to 220 MW of additional electricity from India.

 

Nepal, Kathmandu: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), the state-owned power utility, may soon import up to 220 MW of additional electricity from India.

First 80MW to 90MW of electricity will be imported using 400 kV double-circuit Dhalkebar-Muzaffarpur transmission line, and to this end, 100 MVA power transformer has been installed on the Indian side and necessary arrangements have also been made in Nepal, reports The Himalayan Times.

For additional 120MW to 130MW of electricity from India another circuit will be used for which the Indian supplier will install a transformer of 160 MVA on the Indian side.

Dhalkebar-Muzaffarpur transmission line is the biggest Nepal-India transmission line project which is about to be completed soon.
