United Kingdom, Somerset: A large power transformer about the size of a cottage took to local roads near Bath in Somerset, UK over the past weekend.

The transformer to be transported to Minety Substation in Wiltshire began its journey in Avonmouth and was transported to a storage yard near junction 18 of the M4 on Sunday (7 February), while the rest of its journey will be completed the following Sunday (14 February), reports Bath Chronicle.

National Grid Project Engineer, Peter Hancock explained: “This is an essential delivery to replace an existing transformer. Once installed, it will play a vital role in helping ensure people across the region keep on enjoying safe and reliable electricity supplies.”
