The transportation of the heart of the plant, which consisted of a heavy power transformer and three heavy diesel engines, moved through the Panama Canal on its journey from the port of Trieste, Italy to Puerto Caimito, where Dako had constructed a 100 m long jetty in order to facilitate the discharge operations, and then onto the final construction site in La Chorrera, Panama, reports Break Bulk.
In addition to the construction of the pier, Dako Worldwide had also strengthened three bridges, removed traffic signs and cut branches off trees to allow the transportation between Puerto Caimito and the power plant.
At the construction site, the power transformer and other equipment were placed onto their foundations.
