Belgium, Brussels: The European Commission has imposed provisional anti-dumping duties on the import of Russian and Chinese non-stainless steels after it found that imports from the two countries unfairly undercut producers in Europe such as ArcelorMittal and ThyssenKrupp AG, states the Official Journal.

The EU tariffs set to as high as 26.2 percent will hit Russian and Chinese exporters of certain cold-rolled flat products of iron or non-alloy steel for allegedly selling their products in the EU’s market below cost.

The affected producers of this kind of steel include Russia’s Novolipetsk Steel, Severstal and Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works; and China’s Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Hebei Iron & Steel Co. and Angang Steel Co.
