India, Tamil Nadu: 13 new substations have been proposed to be erected in Krishnagiri district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India.

The funds have been allocated for the erection of substations with power transformers and associated electrical equipment at Sigaralapalli, Chettipalli, Mudukurukki, Irudhukottai, Perugobanapalli, Koochur, Pannandhur, Bayanapalli, Poonapalli, Nagondapalli, Madakondapalli, Akkondapalli and Ottapatti, reports The Hindu.

In addition, clearances have been obtained for setting up of a 33 kV substation at Jawalagiri.

Tangedco, the Tamil Nadu electricity company, is currently looking for land for this substation project, expecting to cost nearly $12 million.
