EuroSibEnergo to invest $200M in Siberian HPPs

Russia: EuroSibEnergo, Russia's largest privately-held power producer, announced a $200 million New Energy modernization program of its Siberian hydropower plants (HPPs) on the Angara and Yenisei rivers.

 


Russia: EuroSibEnergo, Russia’s largest privately-held power producer, announced a $200 million New Energy modernization program of its Siberian hydropower plants (HPPs) on the Angara and Yenisei rivers.

This complex upgrade program will cover Krasnoyarsk, Bratsk and Ust-Ilimsk HPPs, and include a replacement of generator transformers and switchgear, as well as the plants’ hydraulic components and 12 turbine runners, the company states in the press release.

Modernization that is to be completed by 2018 will boost the dam’s annual power output by 1.5 billion MW.

Saint Petersburg-based Power Machines will supply new turbine runners and high voltage transformers for Krasnoyarsk and Ust-Ilimsk HPP.
