Spanish-owned energy group to invest $1.1B in Latin America
Chile, Santiago: Chile’s transmission company Celeo Redes, a subsidiary of Spanish energy and infrastructure group Elecnor, has been awarded an electricity transmission contract by Chile's central grid operator CDEC-SIC.
Chile, Santiago: Chile’s transmission company Celeo Redes, a subsidiary of Spanish energy and infrastructure group Elecnor, has been awarded an electricity transmission contract by Chile’s central grid operator CDEC-SIC.
The contract includes installation of a new substation, with power transformers and associated electrical equipment, a 2×200 kV transmission line and a 1×750 MVA, 500/220 kV transformer bank in northern Chile’s Atacama region (III), reports BN Americas.
The transmission line will connect substations Nueva Diego de Almagro and Cumbres.
Last October the head of the company’s Chile operations, Manuel Sanz, said Celeo Redes plans to invest €1 billion ($1.1 billion) in Latin America over the next five years, cites BN Americas.
