Egypt to award $227M transformer station contract

Egypt, Cairo: Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) plans to contract Alstom for the supply and installation of five transformer stations at a value of €200 million ($227 million).

 


Egypt, Cairo: Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) plans to contract Alstom for the supply and installation of five transformer stations at a value of €200 million ($227 million).

According to the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, the contract with Alstom will be signed within days and includes the supply of five transformer stations, with power transformers and associated electrical equipment, of capacities ranging from 220 kV to 500 kV, reports The Daily New Egypt.

The installation of the transformer stations will be completed over the course of six months.
