Utility to procure $6B worth of distribution equipment

India, New Delhi: India’s state-run utility company Power Grid Corporation will spend $6 billion to procure distribution equipment from domestic vendors on behalf of states, required for implementation of the rural electrification and network strengthening programmes.

 


India, New Delhi: India’s state-run utility company Power Grid Corporation will spend $6 billion to procure distribution equipment from domestic vendors on behalf of states, required for implementation of the rural electrification and network strengthening programmes.

Power Grid is seeking supply of critical equipment, including power transformers, distribution transformers, conductors and cables for all states, reports The Economic Times.

The online reverse auction for the procurement of distribution equipment began on 1 April and will continue until 4 May. About 110 domestic equipment manufacturers empanelled with Power Grid are participating in the auction.
