$848M funding secured for clean energy infrastructure in India

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the US Agency for International Development (USAID) to jointly support the development of clean energy infrastructure in India.

 


The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the US Agency for International Development (USAID) to jointly support the development of clean energy infrastructure in India.

As per the deal, the partners will provide $848 million in funding for the development of renewable energy generation and transmission projects in the country, reports EBR.

The deal is expected to contribute to the Indian Government‘s aim to have 175 GW of installed renewable energy capacity by 2022. This includes 100 GW of installed solar capacity.
