Contract awarded for one of the largest HVAC substations ever

STX France has been awarded a contract to design, build and install one of the largest HVAC offshore substations ever built.

 


STX France has been awarded a contract to design, build and install one of the largest HVAC offshore substations ever built.

The substation with power transformers and other electrical equipment will be installed in the German sector of the Baltic on the Arkona offshore windfarm built by E.ON and Statoil, reports Offshore Wind Journal.

STX France will design and install the unit at sea, while Schneider Electric will provide the full electrical package and ABB the electrical transformers.

Installation is due to take place in the summer of 2018.
