Australia, Whitsunday Islands: The Whitsunday region in Queensland, Australia is on its way to having its first solar farm.

Once completed, the farm will be home to around 192,000 solar panels, with the infrastructure on-site able to convert the solar energy to electricity, including a power transformer and a switch room, reports Whitsunday Times.

The farm will be connected to the grid through the nearby Proserpine substation, with the electricity continuing on to the bigger load centres in Proserpine, Airlie Beach, Bowen and Mackay.
