Siemens receives order for three substations in Bahrain

Germany, Erlangen: Siemens has been awarded an order by the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) in Bahrain for the upgrade of energy infrastructure in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

 


Germany, Erlangen: Siemens has been awarded an order by the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) in Bahrain for the upgrade of energy infrastructure in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The company is to supply, install and commission three 400/220 kV substations, with the electrical equipment, power transformers, the control and protection systems and cable re-routing.

The substations are to be erected in Hidd, Riffa and Umm Al Hassan and completed within two years.

According to the manufacturer, the company will introduce an upgraded 400 kV network, which will be a milestone for the country’s electricity transmission grid.
