744 transformers to get tin sheet covers for public safety

India, Maharashtra: Following a death of one person in a transformer blast that took place in Chinchwad on 7 May, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) decided to install tin sheet covers over 744 transformers in the city to improve public safety.

 


India, Maharashtra: Following a death of one person in a transformer blast that took place in Chinchwad on 7 May, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) decided to install tin sheet covers over 744 transformers in the city to improve public safety.

According to MSEDCL, installing tin sheet covers over transformers will reduce the threats occurring during a breakdown, oil leakage or sparking in transformers, reports The Times of India.
