Upgrade of 270 transformer and distribution stations planned for 2016-2017

Russia, Volga Federal District: Russian utility company Nizhnovenergo is implementing a large power infrastructure rehabilitation project planned for 2016-2017, which will see 270 transformer substations and distribution points repaired and reconstructed in the Volga Federal District.

 


Russia, Volga Federal District: Russian utility company Nizhnovenergo is implementing a large power infrastructure rehabilitation project planned for 2016-2017, which will see 270 transformer substations and distribution points repaired and reconstructed in the Volga Federal District.

As part of the project, the company is currently reconstructing its Meshcherskaya substation in the city of Nizhny Novgorod, which will be feeding power to the FIFA World Cup stadium in Nizhny Novgorod, reports EP Russia.

The substation will be upgraded with a new power transformer to be installed in June in place of the existing 25 MVA transformer, and commissioned in July.

A new stadium distribution facility is also under construction, with works expected to be completed in June, when distribution transformers will be installed.
