The entire country was without electricity for more than three hours yesterday after the incident happened, reports Mirror.
According to Kenya’s electricity provider KenGen, the monkey climbed on the roof of the Gitaru power station and dropped onto the transformer tripping it, which caused other equipment to trip on overload resulting in the loss of 180 MW of power and triggering a blackout across Kenya.
Power was restored almost four hours later and the monkey survived its adventure.
