USA, Colorado: The utility company Xcel Energy is working on a $30 million project at Greeley, Colorado, upgrading the substations and distribution system with an aim to almost triple the area’s transmission capacity.

Work is already under way at the 23rd Avenue and 10th Street substation, where crews will be installing electrical equipment, and performing other civil works, reports The Greely Tribune.

When finished in late 2017, the station will be double the size it is now.

This project is part of an even larger $100 million, multi-year distribution system upgrade project which is expected to provide reliable power supply to Greely’s area.
