The Philippines, Santo Tomas: The Pampanga III Electric Cooperative (PELCO-3) broke ground for their new power substation which will cater to the growing demand for electricity of industrial companies in San Simon town.

The new 20 MVA substation, with power transformers and associated electrical equipment, will be adjacent to the existing substation of the electric company in Barangay Sto. Rosario Pau, reports Sun Star.

“This substation shall cater to the needs of industrial firms in our town which continue to grow in number. A decrease in power rate is also expected since supply will increase,” said PELCO-3 San Simon Director, Rod Bravo.

He added that the construction will take four months and the substation will be operational by December of this year.
