394 power projects at $2.8 billion proposed in Minnesota

USA, Minnesota: Minnesota Midcontinent Independent System Operator’s (MISO) has unveiled its 2016 Transmission Expansion Plan (MTEP), recommending 394 projects totalling $2.8 billion.

 


USA, Minnesota: Minnesota Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) has unveiled its 2016 Transmission Expansion Plan (MTEP), recommending 394 projects totalling $2.8 billion.

The projects are varied by type, with 44% of them dedicated to upgrading substation equipment, 28% to transmission line upgrades, 20% to the installation of new transmission lines, 5% to transformer upgrades and replacements and 3% to voltage control improvements, reports RTO Insider.

MTEP 16 also includes four economic projects, among which is the $6.7 million Lakeover 500/230 kV transformer upgrade in south-eastern Louisiana.
