Japanese agency financing new substation projects in Ghana
Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has partnered with the government of Ghana and funded the construction of two substation projects in Tamale and Sunyani, which are currently underway.
Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has partnered with the government of Ghana and funded the construction of two substation projects in Tamale and Sunyani, which are currently underway.
The two projects constructed by the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCO), with power transformers and associated electrical equipment, are worth $16.4 million, according to Koji Makino, the Japanese agency’s country representative for Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
During his visit to Ghana, Makino said his agency will continue to support electrical infrastructure projects such as building of new substations, transmission and distribution lines to enable stable and reliable power supply in the country, reports ESI-Africa.
