Siemens Austria ships 50th large transformer to Texas

Austria, Weiz: Siemens transformer plant in Weiz, Austria, is ready to ship the fiftieth large power transformer to a long-time customer in Texas.
This 600 MVA transformer has been manufactured for Oncor, a Texan utility company, and will be installed in Fort Worth near Dallas, reports Industrie Magazin.
The manufacture of the 340-tonne transformer took ten months, while its transport will take another two months.
After its journey by truck, train and ship to its final destination in Texas, it will take additional two months to assemble the transformer and connect it to the 345 kV grid.
