A feasibility study for the power network connection project in Europe through Cyprus and Greece is to be conducted in two weeks, when the total cost of the project will be set, and locations of the transformer stations determined, reports Egypt Independent.
Egypt’s Ministry of Electricity also announced the contracts for the electricity interconnection network with Saudi Arabia are to be signed by the end of next June, with the project scheduled to start in 2021.
Another electricity interconnection project is also in progress with Sudan, costing between $60 and 70 million.
Once the requisite contracts are signed, a tender will be launched, and the works on the project will start three months after.
