Gongor-Khimti transmission line 80% complete

Nepal: Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Company, a subsidiary of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and the developer of the Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Project, has completed construction of over 80 percent of the 220 kV Gongor-Khimti Transmission Line Project, reports Kathmandu Post.

 


Nepal: Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Company, a subsidiary of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and the developer of the Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Project, has completed construction of over 80 percent of the 220 kV Gongor-Khimti Transmission Line Project, reports Kathmandu Post.

The 47 km transmission line will be crucial for evacuating hydro power generated by the 456 MW Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Project, which is scheduled to go online by December 2018.

The contractor also started construction of a substation at Khimti, where electricity produced by the project will be evacuated.
