Turkmenistan to increase power capacity across country
Turkmenistan: In order to ensure uninterrupted power supply to consumers across Turkmenistan, the country is planning to create a ring power system with new transmission lines and substations to be built.

The power system of Turkmenistan’s Dashoguz province has recently been strengthened with new transformer stations and high-voltage power lines, increasing availability of electricity to cities and villages and significantly reducing its losses, reports Trend.
Other planned projects include building a double-circuit 220 kV transmission line with a 220 kV substation that will integrate energy systems of Akhal and Balkan regions, as well as a single-circuit 500 kV transmission line and a 500 kV substation in Balkanabat city, and additional 500 kV and 200 kV substations and power lines to connect them to Dashoguz city.
Turkmenistan sells electricity to Afghanistan, Iran and Turkey, and is considering prospects of exporting to the markets of the Caucasus, and Central and South Asia.
