TCN installs 27 power transformers to support grid expansion

Nigeria, Abuja: The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has embarked on a large grid expansion and rehabilitation project in order to strengthen the national grid and ensure better electricity transmission across the country.

 


Nigeria, Abuja: The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has embarked on a large grid expansion and rehabilitation project in order to strengthen the national grid and ensure better electricity transmission across the country.

As part of the project TCN has installed 27 power transformers to raise its electricity transmission capacity by 2,148 megawatts MW, reports Independent.

The transformers were installed across the grids of 11 electricity distribution companies.

The TCN officials have also revealed plans to acquire Supervisory and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to monitor the entire national electricity grid.
